Are popular liquor brands really cheaper in PA?

The Pennsylvania LCB is claiming that some of the state store's best selling items are significantly cheaper in PA than in neighboring states. The Board is trying to demonstrate that state stores have better pricing than residents like to believe and that the idea of cheaper liquor in neighboring states is in fact just a myth. But their evidence begs the question: Will PA residents really pay more for their "favorites" if liquor stores are privatized or are these brands popular in PA simply because they're cheap here? If selection increases & prices decrease with privatization, as supporters predict, then it makes sense to assume that the preferences of consumers will change accordingly.

Lifesaver or just plain old government interference?

Next year, Pennsylvania will begin requiring sprinkler systems in all residential new construction, becoming the first state in the nation with such requirements. According to a Pittsburgh Tribune Review article, the Uniform Construction Code requires sprinklers in residential new construction as of January 1, 2011, and Pennsylvania state laws follow the UCC. Builders and homeowners seem to be up in arms about the new law, claiming that the additional cost is an unreasonable burden. Fire prevention groups and fire experts insist that sprinklers will save thousands of lives, millions in property damage and reduce the burden on municipal services.

The importance of duels in Pennsylvania

It's recently come to my attention that any person who has participated in a duel can't be Governor of PA. I'm not sure exactly how the law defines "duel", but I'm looking into it. The idea here would be to involve all of the biggest morons in politics in duels so that they could never hold the seat. Yes, I realize that's an exhorbitant number of duels but we must do our civil duties, people. There are quite a few dummies likely to fall for it, all of whom deserve to be out of the race before it even starts.
