Biking in Traffic

I just have one thing to say to the bike-riders:

"Get the hell out of my way. Now."

If I had the disposable income to afford a good attorney, I'd probably make an example out of some of these people.

Yeah, yeah, I know: You're saving the environment by conserving natural resources & reducing pollution, which is great. It's a very healthy lifestyle choice in the sense of exercise, but it's also a very poor lifestyle choice in the sense that road rage can kill you.

  • Getting stuck behind a bicycle on a busy road, with your spedometer barely moving, is unsafe for drivers & cyclists alike.

  • It's unfair to subject hundreds of drivers & bus-riders stuck behind you to move at 15 mph or less simply because you're in the way.

  • Traffic crawling behind you is increasing pollution exponentially.

  • Follow the same rules of the road & most drivers will respect you. Snake through lines of traffic to cut us off & you're just baiting motorists & begging for trouble.

  • Most importantly, don't try to "make a statment" of your lifestyle choice. Nobdy cares. All you're doing is turning others against biking & cyclists.

Pet Peeves: Diversity

Okay, I'm not some sort of racial supremicist or hatemonger so don't get your undies in a bunch. I have a valid, rational point to make that won't offend or insult anyone, just hear me out.

Personal pet peeves: constant demand for "diversity" in everything

True diversity would be allowing everyone to do what comes naturally. If we insist on creating a calculated variety in every possible group of people, aren't we in fact acting in complete opposition to diversity?

I'm constantly hearing about the "need" for diversity but I just don't see why we'd want to follow such a prescription. Mandating diversity will only serve to completely homogenize the entire nation.

If society manipulates all organizations to the point that everything is a conglomeration of every possible lifestyle, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, language, body-type, social conflaguration, etc. then everything will be exactly the same, won't it?

Hmmm, that sure seems to be exacerbating the problem instead of solving it.

Complaints Welcome

But only if you can offer an intelligent solution to the problem.

Are you naive enough to hope for intelligent leadership? Do you feel like a political outsider because both parties act on principles that insult your intelligence?

Do you have strong feelings about social issues & no outlet for them? Would you like to work for change but don't know how to do so?

Do you see things every day that make you sad & angry? If so, this is the place for you.

Each day, I see things that shock, anger & sadden me. Maybe it's something small, like a kid throwing rocks at a squirrel. Sometimes it's more serious, like an obviously drunk driver endangering all of us with a poor choice. This is my forum to bemoan the horrible scourges of the world & applaud the more respectable actions I see, as well.

It's basically a place to vent & share my unsolicited opinion on just about everything. Maybe no one will care or maybe it will start a revolution, who knows?
